Ghost of Yotei has some recognizable talent behind the voices and faces of its characters, and for players who are hearing a voice but can’t quite put a name to it, we’ve assembled the main characters and the actors who play them in Ghost of Yotei so you can find out where you’ve previously heard or seen them across a variety of video games, shows, and movies.
Erika Ishii as Atsu, the Ghost of Yotei
The Rook in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Among Countless Others
- Japanese Cast: Ai Fairouz
The protagonist of Ghost of Yotei, the Ghost of Yotei herself, is played by Erika Ishii. Erika Ishii plays Atsu, bringing a performance of a woman battling her trauma, desire for vengeance, and unwillingness to die until she brings down the Yotei Six. Erika Ishii has a bunch of celebrated credits, like Valkyrie in Apex Legends, Sektor in Mortal Kombat 1, and the Rook in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Erika Ishii has provided her talents across a variety of projects, and it seems that Atsu in Ghost of Yotei is her biggest work yet.
Feodor Chin as Lord Saito
Zenyatta in Overwatch 2, and Other Voices in Ghost of Tsushima
- Japanese Cast: Mio Tanaka
Lord Saito is the man who took everything from Atsu when she was just a girl, and left her to die by the corpses of her parents and the burning tree that engulfed them. Lord Saito rules Ezo with his outlaws, and the other members of the Yotei Six swear their undying loyalty to Lord Saito. It makes sense for a character as vicious and manipulative as Lord Saito to be played by a veteran actor who has provided a multitude of work to the video game industry, which is why players might recognise Lord Saito’s voice as Feodor Chin. Feodor Chin is credited for giving Zenyatta a voice in Overwatch 2, along with characters like Harunobu Adachi and Yamato from Ghost of Tsushima.
Robert Wu as The Snake
Mister Washee Washee in Family Guy
- Japanese Cast: Tomokazu Sugita
The Snake doesn’t have much to say, as he’s the first target on Atsu’s list, and she’s less concerned about the venom of his tongue and more concerned about crossing his name from her list with his blood. Despite a small role and just a few lines, players might recognize The Snake as Robert Wu. This sadistic member of the Yotei Six is played by Robert Wu, who has a familiar voice across various Family Guy characters, like Peter’s laundromat rival, Mr. Washee Washee. Robert Wu was also in Death Stranding as The Novelist’s Son!
Tommy Kang as The Oni
Soda from Sausage Party: Foodtopia
- Japanese Cast: Atsushi Miyauchi
The Oni is a disgraced samurai who blindly follows Lord Saito in the hopes of regaining what little honor he still has. The Oni is quiet, imposing in his size, and someone you certainly don’t want to light the fuse of. Such a serious and imposing threat as The Oni demands a booming voice to go with it, which is provided by the talented Tommy Kang. Tommy Kang doesn’t have many known credits, but you might have heard him as Soda if you watched Sausage Party: Foodtopia on Amazon Prime Video.
Matt Yang King as The Kitsune
Thanos in Squid Game (English Dub), and Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat 1
- Japanese Cast: Jun Fukuyama
The Kitsune is the most quiet and reserved of the Yotei Six, and this member is always watching, and always growing sadistic new ways to poison and torment opponents without uttering a word. There aren’t many lines for the Kitsune, just a frustrating amount of Kitsune puzzles to solve. However, the Kitsune is voiced by Matt Yang King, who players would have heard as Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat 1, along with the English dub as Thanos in Squid Game Season 2, and in further live-action roles as Appa and Momo in Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Marty Mantle in Riverdale.
Nelson Lee as The Spider
Takeo Masaki in Black Ops 7, Senator Xioni in Star Wars: Ahsoka
- Japanese Cast: Mutsumi Sakai
The Spider is the firstborn son of Lord Saito, and as such, he gives everything to his father in an effort to show his respect and prove his place by his father’s side. His loyalty shows that his ambition is just an extension of his desperate desire to please his father, and this character is brought to life thanks to Nelson Lee. Nelson Lee plays Senator Xioni in Star Wars: Ahsoka, but just recently, he was announced as the new voice for Takeo Masaki in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, as the original actor for Takeo, Tom Kane, suffered a stroke in 2020.
David Sakurai as The Dragon
Krall in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
- Japanese Cast: Tomokazu Seki
The Dragon is the second-born son of Lord Saiko, and his name comes from his fierce personality and the rage that builds inside for how he is constantly overshadowed by his older brother and his love for dear old dad. The Dragon has no patience or respect, and his fury is voiced by David Sakurai. While David Sakurai is more known for his roles in Scandinavian movies and shows, he’s still amassed some recognizable credits, like as an Earth Kingdom Spy in Avatar: The Last Airbender, and more prominently, as Krall in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.
The next actors and their roles in Ghost of Yotei could be considered spoilers.
Jeannie Bolet as Oyuki
Echo in Overwatch 2, and Professor Bai Howin in Hogwarts Legacy
- Japanese Cast: Romi Park
Oyuki works as a shamisen player in the Red Crane Inn in Ezo’s snowy regions, and it’s clear that she hides more than she lets on. While players are going to have to journey with her to uncover her story, they might already actually recognize her voice. Oyuki is played by Jeannie Bolet, who is best known for her role as Echo in Overwatch 2, along with additional voices for Hogwarts Legacy, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, and some other minor roles in live-action with NCIS: Origins, 9-1-1, and Criminal Minds.
Noshir Dalal as Jubei
Charles Smith in RDR2, Bode in Star Wars Jedi Survivor, and Many More
- Japanese Cast: Shougo Nakamura
Noshir Dalal is a voice that players will instantly recognize when they first hear Jubei, the Matsumae samurai who aids Atsu in the Ishikari Plain. Jubei is played by none other than Noshir Dalal, who has dozens upon dozens of credits in the video game industry. Players might recognise Noshir Dalal’s performance as Charles Smith from Red Dead Redemption 2, or as Mysterio in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and even Bode from Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, among countless other projects.
