FC Porto have reportedly decided against signing Jakub Kiwior after being put off by the Arsenal defender's €30 million price tag.

According to Portuguese newspaper , Porto were keen on the Poland international but baulked at Arsenal's €30m (£26m) asking price. Instead, they moved to sign Southampton centre-back and compatriot Jan Bednarek, who joined for £6.5m.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is reportedly keen on keeping Kiwior for next season but the player is said to be considering a transfer exit in a bid to get more game time. He has been linked with a Serie A switch but as of now, he remains in the Gunners squad.

The 25-year-old, who can play at centre-back and left-back, has made 68 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions, scoring three goals in the process. But the Pole is very much behind Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba in the pecking order and that has been reflected in his 45 starts for the club.
