Despite not getting on the scoresheet himself, Hojlund’s all-around contribution earned him a glowing review from his manager, who called it the striker’s most complete game since arriving at Old Trafford.

The match saw United take a significant step towards the Europa League final with a performance few expected to be so dominant. Casemiro opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark, and minutes later, Hojlund earned a penalty which was duly converted by Bruno Fernandes. Although Hojlund failed to add to his personal goal tally, which now stands at nine in 47 appearances in this campaign, Amorim was full of admiration for the Dane’s overall influence on the game.
WHAT AMORIM SAID
"I think it was the best game that he had with me as a coach," Amorim opined. "He helped the team a lot, he secured the ball and then made the runs, he decided quite well."
However, Amorim added a note of caution, emphasising that no player should rest on past achievements.
"It is a good moment for him but, like Harry [Maguire], he needs to understand that everything can change," he said. "So let’s focus on the next one. This is in the past. We have a tough job to do on Sunday and on Thursday."

Though Hojlund has not delivered the volume of goals expected of a frontman at a club of United’s stature, Amorim's remarks hint at a deeper trust in the youngster's ability to fulfil the tactical requirements demanded of a modern striker. He will hope to find his scoring boots again when the Red Devils face Brentford on Sunday.
