Paris Saint-Germain broke a long-standing European record on Tuesday night, following their 1-1 draw away at Nantes. Luis Enrique's men, who have already wrapped up the Ligue 1 title after beating Angers over two weeks ago, broke AC Milan's 33-year-old record for the longest unbeaten away streak in a domestic league across Europe's top-five leagues. It has been an incredible season for PSG, who are on course to collect a quadruple, with Arsenal standing in their way in the Champions League semi-finals, while Reims will be their opponents in the French Cup final.

Milan were unbeaten for 38 straight league games between 1991 and 1993 under Arrigo Sacchi and then Fabio Capello. Following the 1-1 draw against Nantes, PSG made it 39 straight games without suffering defeat away from home in Ligue 1. They last lost at an away ground in the league in February 2023, when they were beaten 3-1 by Monaco.

"Today is a very special day, we have broken a wonderful record that belonged to Milan, and it is a positive achievement for the team and for those who came before me," said Luis Enrique in the post-match press conference. "It's important to talk about this record and the players from that era. We are at Milan's level. We're talking about the record for unbeaten away games!"

PSG could break another record by the time the league campaign ends. After 30 games, they have 24 wins and six draws. With just four games to go, Luis Enrique's men could become the first-ever team in Ligue 1 history to go an entire league season without losing.
