Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, the second game in Capcom’s RPG spin-off series, comes to Switch and PC next Friday, 9th July, and, much like its mainline sibling, will enjoy a healthy dose of post-launch support. And now, with its arrival in sight, Capcom has shared a roadmap outlining those post-release content plans.
One week after Monster Hunter Stories 2’s launch, Capcom will deploy its first (and previously detailed) post-launch update, introducing introducing Monster Hunter Rise’s dog-like Palamute companion as a rideable Monstie.
That’ll be followed by a second update on 5th August introducing Hellblade Glavenus and Boltreaver Astalos as new Monsties, alongside a new co-op quest – featuring the gilded Elder Dragon Kulve Taroth – that Monster Riders can tackle together. Capcom notes that while the Elder Dragon won’t be rideable, materials gained from the quest can be used to craft “powerful” new equipment.
Monster Hunter Stories 2’s third Title Update – which adds Soulseer Mizutsune, Elderfrost Gammoth, and Oroshi Kirin as new Monsties – is scheduled to launch sometime in early September, and will be quickly followed by Title Update 4 toward the end of the month. The latter brings Dreadking Rathalos and Molten Tigrex as new Monsties, and marks the return of Kulve Taroth in a new high-difficulty co-op quest promising even greater rewards.
