How to Get Rip Chips & San Van Bucks in Skate 4

EA’s Skate has returned as a free-to-play live service, which means progression and customization are heavily tied to in-game currency. Skate 4 features two different currencies: Rip Chips and San Van Bucks. Knowing how to farm these resources can save you hours of grinding and help you get the most out of your San Vansterdam sessions in Skate 4.

How to Get More Rip Chips in Skate 4

Rip Chips are the main currency you’ll need to progress in Skate 4. They’re marked with an orange logo and earned through regular gameplay, meaning you don’t have to spend a dime to keep stacking them.

The fastest way to farm Rip Chips is by focusing on main mission challenges, which pay out significantly more than daily challenges. Completing optional objectives within those missions also nets bonus Chips, so it pays to finish everything on the list.

Daily challenges are a decent way to grab small bursts of Chips, but they’re best treated as side content. Permanent missions and leveling up Neighborhoods are where the real payouts are.

By teaming up with a friend, you unlock co-op mission add-ons that reward an extra Rip Chips per challenge. This bonus piles up quickly if you’re farming, making multiplayer one of the most efficient ways to farm Rip Chips.

Remember to keep an eye on your Rip Score. Performing tricks, stringing together combos, and engaging in freestyle skating around the city all contribute to leveling up this meter. Every time you increase your Rip Score level, you’re rewarded with extra Chips on top of whatever missions you’re completing.

How to Get More San Van Bucks in Skate 4

San Van Bucks, identified by their pink logo, are Skate’s premium currency. Unlike Rip Chips, these cannot currently be earned by completing missions, challenges, or leveling up. The only way to get them is through the store with real money.

Here are the San Van Bucks bundles currently available:

  • 500 SV Bucks for $4.99
  • 1,050 SV Bucks for $9.99
  • 2,800 SV Bucks for $24.99
  • 5,900 SV Bucks for $49.99
  • 12,000 SV Bucks for $99.99

Players who participated in early playtests were given 250 SV Bucks, but this was a one-time bonus. For everyone else, the premium store is the sole source.

Many cosmetic items in the shop, such as outfits, decks, and accessories, require San Van Bucks, which means you’ll have to decide if you’re willing to invest real-world money to stand out in San Vansterdam.
